Hot Girls Hate Hair Removal
In the colder seasons we care less about hair growth on our bodies but when it warms up the search for the best hair removal method begins. Hair growth is natural and we actually grow it for various reasons- warmth, hygiene and to protect against friction. What you decide to do with your body hair is personal and completely your choice. For those that do want to remove it- finding your favorite method can be a long, tedious, expensive, and potentially harmful process but when you do find what works for you… its gold.
Let's talk about some of your options:
- Shaving
- The most popular method because it's cheap (kinda), easy & quick. Shaving takes technique and using the right tools/formulas. Unfortunately it does not last long because you are only cutting the top of the hair that is visible. Shaving also can incur the most irritation because it can be super drying and you're dealing with sharp blades.
- Wax
- Temporary pain for long term results. Waxing is done best by an expert and can be expensive but does offer the longest result (between 4-6 weeks). Dependent on your pain tolerance and skin type this might be a good option for you. Definitely would recommend getting a leg waxed before you dive into a brazilian.
- Depilatory Cream
- Another cheap, easy & quick method to remove hair. Creams like Nair and Veet are used to remove hair at the skin surface but similar to shaving- this option does not last very long. It does cause less irritation to the skin if used properly and less chance of cutting yourself.
- Laser
- If your goal is to permanently remove your body hair, laser is the route to go. It is a process that takes multiple sessions but has become increasingly more popular for a good reason- it works. The laser removes unwanted hair by damaging follicles and disabling them from growing more hair. You can go to a specialist or try one of the at home laser kits they sell (be careful).
We asked all of you what your current hair removal method was on Instagram & the results were that 42% of you prefer to shave and 25% prefer to wax. See poll:
Some overall care for the areas on your body that you do remove hair:
- exfoliate using a scrub or dry brush. The build up on dead skin can cause hair to get ingrown and cause bumps
- find a good moisturizer for your skin & other aftercare products like baby powder to sooth irritation and leave your skin feeling smooth.
- 24hrs after any hair removal try not to wear any tight clothing or sweat heavily. You want the skin to be able to breathe.
